Wikipedia definition: "New weird" is a literary genre developed in the late 1990s and early 21st century.
It emerged as a reaction to the various existing literary codifications, particularly for the following literary genres: science fiction and fantasy. New weird" is defined as urban fiction set in a realistic world, with narrative elements that may belong to science fiction, fantasy, surrealism or the horror genre.
Here is an assignment from my third year at Brassart. It's not particularly detailed, but I find it interesting because of the world it deals with and the very organic structure of the level design that it suggests. This kind of level isn't designed to focus on gameplay, but rather to build up an atmosphere as you go along.
